BACKMEUP FAQS

Find answers about pricing, storage, backups and restore.

Do restores cost anything extra?

No. Every plan includes unlimited restores at no extra charge.

What happens if I go over my storage limit?

We will email you before you hit the limit.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes, anytime.

Is there a contract or cancellation fee?

No contracts. Monthly plans cancel anytime.

Do you offer a free trial?

Every plan starts with 14 days free.

Where are the storage data centers located?

We utilize redundant data centers located in the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. You can choose your primary data region during account onboarding.

Do you charge extra for bandwidth or egress?

No. Standard restoration bandwidth is 100% free with all plans. We never charge surprise per-gigabyte egress fees.

Can I bring my own S3 bucket?

Yes, Agency and Enterprise plans support external destination targets including AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, and Cloudflare R2.

How is data isolated between users?

Every account is assigned isolated storage namespaces with dedicated encryption keys, ensuring multi-tenant data separation at all times.

Can I restore to a different server?

Yes. You can download a backup and restore it to any server, not just the one it came from — useful for migrations as much as recovery.

What's the difference between full and selective restore?

A full restore replaces files, database, and email together. Selective restore lets you bring back just one of the three, leaving the rest untouched

Does a staging restore affect my live site?

No. A staging restore builds a separate copy you can review, and nothing changes on your live site until you choose to push it there.

How far back can I restore from?

That depends on your plan's version history — 14 days on Starter, 90 on Pro, and up to 365 days on Agency.

Can I trigger a backup right before a risky change?

Yes, on-demand backups let you create a fresh restore point anytime, in addition to your automatic schedule.
